Keith Farrell - Director

Keith has written and directed various projects for Tile Films since 2006 having previously worked with Granada Factual in Manchester.

During his time with Granada he worked on a diverse range of programming including Real Crime: Nailing the Nailbomber, Titanic - Birth of a Legend, Warplane, I SurvivedBuilding the Ultimate and Battlefield Detectives.

His most recent credits include working as creative producer on the IFTA award winning film Saving the Titanic, having also developed the original concept, and Death on the Railroad  which he directed and co-wrote. 

In 2010 he wrote and directed Fág An Bealach/The Fighting Irish of the Civil War. This two part series tells the story of the Irish Brigade in the American Civil War and their charismatic leader General Thomas Francis Meagher.

His first work for Tile Films in 2007 was Irelands Nazis which was nominated for an IFTA award and won a gold award at the Hamburg Media Festival


Dave Farrell - Producer

Dave has worked as development director and producer for Tile Films since 2002. In that time he has produced a number of IFTA nominated films for Tile including Ireland’s Nazis, The Ghosts of Duffy’s Cut and Death or Canada/Fleeing the Faminewhich was nominated for four Gemini awards in Canada. He was also an Executive Producer on Cromwell in Ireland which won the IFTA award for Best Single Documentary in 2009.

His most recent credits include producing Death on the Railroad for PBS in the USA and RTE in Ireland and more recently The Mystery of the Lost Ship which will air on Channel 5 in the UK and TG4 in Ireland.


Colm Whelan - Director of Photography

  

 

 

Over the last 20 years Colm has graduated through the ranks of the camera department to become a highly sought after Director of Photography, both in Ireland and across the world.

His unique camera work and ability to adapt to challenging environments has seen him work on a number of award winning shows with some of the biggest companies in the industry including the BBC, National Geographic, Discovery Channel and MTV. 

In 2009, Colm was nominated for a Gemini award in Canada for his work on the Tile Films production Death or Canada in the 'Best Photography in a Documentary Program or Series' category. He also worked with director Keith Farrell on the Tile Films production Death on the Railroad for PBS/RTE.
